Dear readers and friends,
Today I want to introduce you to the wonderful art of meditation. Now so widespread that this article seems superfluous; but as a holistic wellness operator and holistic centre, it seems right to me to give a small introduction to this discipline.
Under the name of meditation, several techniques are brought together aimed at relaxation, calming the mind and, in a religious sense, spiritual growth. In fact, to put to flight the crowd of thoughts that constantly disturb him, the practitioner must detach himself from them and become aware of himself. Hence meditation is meant to tame the mind , instill peace and joy, and have therapeutic value. Ancient as man, the practice was born in religious and philosophical fields , especially in India, and then expanded and even changed.
Meditation is, in general, the practice of concentrating the mind on one or more objects, images, thoughts (or sometimes on no object) for religious, spiritual, philosophical purposes or simply for improving one's psychophysical conditions. WikipediaWell, having said the definitions, what it is for and why it can help awakening we will see in a while, now I wanted to underline that a small article cannot be exhaustive, I can only cite general indications. However, I highly recommend this practice.
Why should you meditate?

In schools, training in compassion and kindness can help children learn to be in tune with their own emotions and those of others, leading to a decrease in bullying; or helping people who have social anxiety and antisocial behavior. Davidson
Ultimately as they say healthy mind in healthy body, except for Meditation, there is no method to really develop control over the whole mind.
The goal of meditation practice is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature of peace, happiness and bliss.
This little information is essentially just to begin to understand such a practice, which, even if performed with different techniques, always leads to the same end.
This practice is one that I always suggest to all my friends and clients, along with yoga and some other alternative practices.
To conclude I can only say that it is no longer a factor of beliefs, the new "science" has amply demonstrated the benefits of meditation as of other alternative practices, just search the ether for news, the real ones, and you will find many illustrious doctors who scientifically explain its benefits.
One of my favorite definitions of meditation is that it should be understood as a daily practice of mental hygiene… a bit like picking up a toothbrush and brushing our teeth is our daily oral hygiene practice.
And it is easy to imagine that, dedicating a little of our time every day to the hygiene of our mind, we will end up doing good also to the products of our mind, and therefore to our thoughts, and our emotions.
