Chapter 1: The Four Elements
The Four Elements – Fire, Earth, Air, Water – are nothing more than the form of created matter, they make up a circle on which the survival of the human species and beyond depends. Their perfect balance and their union lead to the creation of the fifth element, defined as the Fifth Essence or Ether: an immaterial part of the cosmos, eternal, immutable, transparent.
The Water element
Water has a great esoteric value, it is the source of life, the matrix which in the form of amniotic fluid and primordial waters preserves and initiates life. In ancient cosmogonies, water, the primordial component, is a vital principle intended as a means of regeneration.
In the form of rain it makes the earth fertile and fruitful. In fact, the drop, the infinitely small, contains the infinitely large, just like the seed contains all the information to continue the development of life. Water is a subtle element, in fact in the form of vapor it rises towards the sky and is impregnated with astral energies. Subsequently it returns in the form of rain to the earth, fertilizing it with the energies captured in the subtle dimension.
The earth benefits from the information received from the water, for its continuous evolution. In the theory of the four traditional elements, water takes third place: after fire and air and before earth. This position between the air and the earth belongs to it as regards the movement allowed by its structure, geometrically an inverted equilateral triangle with the vertex downwards, while the most immobile and most easily malleable element is the earth, the most solid of all elements, symbolically represented by the square.
Water represents the feminine par excellence, as it is extremely adaptable, passive and receptive. In fact, in the liquid state it is flexible, it changes its shape, adapting to the circumstances, bypassing the obstacles it encounters in its path. From the source in which it was born, it slowly reaches the sea, first becoming a stream and then a river in a process of continuous transformation which is its true strength. Water flows into the depths of the earth, passing through the dark and dense matter, returning to the surface bringing with it secret energies. In fact, through water there is the primordial initiation, the purification, under the ritual form of baptism. Being a passive element, water has calm and temperance as virtues.
As cardinal point it is the west; as a season is autumn.
WATER is the door to the unconscious
You can turn to the Water element when you can't find a solution to a problem or you can't interpret your emotions.
Water is the vital element from which everything is born, the womb and the source of nourishment. Its direction is West and it is associated with memories, dreams, intuition, feelings, emotions. All sea creatures are under her protection and especially those with fins (dolphins, whales, porpoises). In nature the oceans, rivers and rain. The instrument of the water element is the cup and the elemental spirit the undines. The Goddesses associated with the Water element are Aphrodite, Yemanjà, Tiamat; the Gods Poseidon, Nyord and Agwe.
Water is the element of purification, therefore suitable in magic to remove worries, heal wounds, soothe the soul and get back in touch with one's feelings and heart.
When in the lunar calendar the moon is in the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) all works and rites based on water are more successful: watering, washing and laundry (on the waning moon), ritual baths, purifying baths (on the waning moon). The parts of plants corresponding to these days are the leaves.
The elemental spirits of water: the undines or nymphs
They live in rivers, lakes, springs, ponds and waterfalls.
They can take on the appearance of foam riding the waves or that of very bright lights in shades of blue or green. Sometimes they also take on human features and are depicted as half-woman, half-fish creatures like the mythical sirens. They are diaphanous young girls, with flowers and garlands in their hair. They love to dance, sing, swim, spin and weave always close to their natural element. These creatures are often dangerous because no man can resist their mysterious song and their beauty… The best moments for to see them are those of dawn and dusk and to protect yourself from their call, you just need to bring a twig of willow with you.

It is understood that the second level cannot be accessed without having achieved the first level, there is no minimum time that must elapse between one level and another but there is a lot of work to be done on oneself and there is a lot to learn. As the great masters say: "Follow your feelings".
