HOW TO SET GOALS AND CREATE A VISION FOR YOUR FUTURE

 Dear readers and friends,

As with every Life Coaching context we're examining, there are only small explanations and many questions. Finding these answers is our task; discovering ourselves, then improving ourselves and loving ourselves for who we are, is the ultimate goal. As has been mentioned in several articles:

“A question at the right time can change your life, or at least your view of it.”

So let's continue the series of Life Coaching articles with the same pattern.

Last but not least, no one can fool themselves, they can believe they can, but if we don't accept ourselves and are honest with ourselves, nothing we do will work.

This is the safe place where you can show your True Self without receiving criticism or suggestions, just questions at the right time.

Goals are what our desires become when we set deadlines for them to become reality.  To feel like you're moving forward and making adequate progress in life, it's essential that the goals you commit to play a role in pushing you toward a broader vision for your life as a whole.

Setting and achieving healthy goals is essential to our well-being and happiness. Striving to achieve  realistic goals demonstrates that you are the master of your life, not the other way around. While you may prioritize the  practical aspects of achieving goals over everything else, visualizing a goal is more important than having  all the answers. The first step in building a house is the blueprints, which provide the final vision of what the  house will ultimately look like. Without a blueprint, it will be impossible for the builder to know what the final result should look like.

If you don't have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in life, you can end up spending years going around in circles,  engaging in things that don't interest you and feeling frustrated with life. People who don't actively work toward  a goal or vision in life often experience life as meaningless and directionless.

The great  news is that life doesn't have to be this way! While many people assume that achieving a vision for their future will be  a challenging and time-consuming process, that's not the case.  A meaningful vision for your future can be as simple as making a difference in someone else's life, or it could have  a massive impact on the world and everything else.

The first step in setting goals is defining your vision  and taking full responsibility for what you want to achieve. Responsibility generates  empowerment and fosters self-confidence.

This vision can't be what you think others want  you to do, or even what you simply "think" is a good idea. It's important to understand that "good ideas" don't come  from the same place as meaningful visions. Ideas come from our head, and visions come from our heart.

The vision and goals you develop for your future can't be what others want or expect of you because the  goal here isn't to please others but to find something that will motivate you for the rest of your life (or at least the next two years).

If you don't have a vision for your future, visualize your life in five years: what would be the best-case scenario for you?

This should give you a starting point for setting at least one or two goals. If you want to be successful at  goal-setting, you need to define the most important goals you have for each area of your life. Without a set of life goals that  inspire you, you won't have much clarity of focus and direction for your future.

Grow with discipline. Balance intuition with rigor. Innovate around the core. Don't  embrace the status quo. Find new ways of seeing. Never expect a  miracle solution. Get your hands dirty. Listen with empathy and over-communicate with transparency.  Tell your story, refusing to let others define you. Use authentic experiences to  inspire. Stick to your values; they are your foundation. Make difficult choices; it's how you  execute that matters. Be decisive in times of crisis. Be agile. Find truth in your trials, in your  lessons, and from your mistakes. Be accountable for what you see, hear, and do. Howard Schultz

Setting goals allows you to take control of the direction your life takes and also provides you with a benchmark that can be used to determine whether you are making progress toward those goals or not.

First and foremost, however, to achieve any goal in life, you must know how to set it. Goal setting is a process that begins with careful consideration of what you truly want to achieve. The part of the goal-setting process that most people dislike is the hard work required to achieve them. However, it's worth remembering that hard work only seems hard when it doesn't inspire you.

Set only inspiring,  realistic goals that you can confidently achieve.

When setting goals for yourself, it's crucial that they inspire you. Your goals should aim to  bring positive benefits to the world in some way, in areas that are important to you. If your goals are small,  uninteresting, and irrelevant to someone's quality of life, the chances of you investing time in achieving them  are slim. Genuine inspiration is the key principle behind successful goal setting.

It's important to set goals that align with your top priorities in life. If you don't have this level of  focus, you run the risk of feeling overwhelmed and not even knowing where to start.

Achieving goals requires commitment, patience, and perseverance, and if  you lack any of these elements, your  chances of achieving your goals are limited.

So, to maximize your chances of achieving  your goals, remember to make sure your goals are challenging and relevant to you. Ask yourself, "If  I were to share my goal with others, would they see my goals as meaningful  or selfish and petty?"

How you answer this question will determine whether your goals are worth pursuing or not!
