Shamanic Work: Listening to Your Self

 Dear readers and friends,

Today I propose you an article on the wonderful world of shamanism: listening to your Self.

When do we listen?

How do we listen?

"We generally waste our lives, distracted from our true selves, in endless activities. Meditation is the way to bring us back to ourselves, where we can truly experience and savor our full being." - Sogyal Rinpoche

In our Western culture, we are not used to listening to our spirit or acting on what our intuition tells us. We are trained to believe in science, rational and measurable evidence. It is thought to be a very reasonable approach. However, intuitive guidance is not reasonable and does not gather information from many sources, so it is often considered an unreliable source of information. As a result, we often doubt or question our intuitive guidance and do not communicate it to others.

Learning to listen to your intuition means being guided by your spirit rather than by fear or ego.

We all have the ability to connect and reconnect with spirit. You are your most important source of guidance. An incredible amount of wisdom resides deep within the core of your inner being.

This process asks you to become like a great eagle perched on the top of a mountain. Let your spirit soar, because you can truly see all that is below. Your mind is the stuff of the valley floor, it cannot see the forest for the trees, and so it presents its own needs, the need for logic and past experiences to define itself.

This is why we need to tap into the Great Spirit. It is bigger than the mind's image, or the ego's limited view of life. It sees more than the mind can ever know.

The unlimited view of creation, full of wisdom, the big picture of your life will serve you well in the long run. Not only do you have your higher self as your guide, but you also have your own personal spirit guides to accompany you! You have the ability to call upon your personal guides at any time. You may not know them yet, however I encourage you to look within yourself and ask yourself questions. They will show you the way forward. There are many levels of guidance, you just need to know and trust that they are there to assist you on your journey and that they will bring you great peace.

Meditation is one of the simplest ways to integrate with your higher self, your guidance.

Meditation increases the life energy in yoga, we call it prana. "The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this life." - Sogyal Rinpoche

Your prana, chi, life energy, is the very basis of your health and well-being. One of the most powerful and simple ways to achieve this is through meditation. When your body is alive with more prana, you feel alive, alert, energetic, full of what life has to offer. A lack of prana causes tiredness, lethargy, lethargy, and low levels of enthusiasm for this life we lead.

A quick note : You don’t have to spend hours on it! If you can consistently spend five to twenty minutes a day, that’s great.

It is said that the root of a disease is in the mind/consciousness. So by taking care of the mind and freeing it from any disturbances, the recovery from the disease is accelerated.

Life is short. We are only here briefly and we should strive to make it meaningful. Challenge yourself and do something you have never done before.
