Practical Herbal Medicine: CYSTITIS, LEUCORRHEA, UTERINE FIBROMA, OVARIAN CYST, PROSTATIC ADENOMA - PROSTATIC HYPERTROPHY

Dear readers and friends,                                   Articolo in italiano su OlisticaMente Kokoro

Today I present to you an article on some pathologies of the urinary tract with distinction between female and male. Alongside these ailments are inserted some herbal treatments tested and working.

We will see some herbal remedies that work but as always, before getting self-diagnosis and do-it-yourself treatments, it is always better to go to a doctor.

N.B. When the results of a therapy based on medicinal plants should be disappointing, resort, without hesitation, to synthetic medicines that your trusted doctor will recommend.

CYSTITIS: Acute or chronic process of inflammation of the bladder or urinary tract in general, usually the disorder is due to bacterial infections deriving from the kidney or urethra. This state of imbalance is characterized by frequent and painful urination, the emission of cloudy urine, sometimes bloody, sometimes with the presence of fever. First you need to intervene with antibacterial, then antispasmodics or plants with an emollient action. In acute cystitis, synthetic urinary antiseptics and specific antibiotics are needed. Since cystitis can often occur in women due to the translocation of bacteria from the colon to the bladder, it will be very important to keep the intestinal bacterial flora intact by taking lactic ferments.

LEUCORRHEA: This term refers to all those uterovaginal secretions which do not contain blood and which have a whitish color, so much so that they are also commonly called "white discharge". They can be of three types:

• non-pathological, as they are linked to particular physiological conditions such as the period preceding menarche, pregnancy and menopause. In these cases they are the consequence of a particular neuro-endocrine activity which stimulates the secretions of the genital mucosa.

• consequent to diseases or dysfunctions, such as: ovarian dysfunctions, anaemia, wasting states and others, of which they are in any case a marginal symptom.

• pathological, resulting from diseases of the genital system such as: cervicitis or vaginitis.

In the first 2 cases the losses are odorless and whitish, while in the 3rd case they are yellowish and often malodorous. We intervene only in pathological cases and in those resulting from diseases or dysfunctions, while scrupulous intimate hygiene must always be observed. In all cases it will be good to undergo a specialist gynecological examination.

Calendula Officinalis T.M. (marigold) flowers. Calendula has innumerable actions among which the most important is the anti-inflammatory one. It has a slight estrogenic action, and is often used in cases of leucorrhoea, but also dysmenorrhea. It regulates too abundant flows and is also used successfully in cases of mycotic vaginitis. Take 40 gtt. three times a day away from meals.

UTERINE FIBROMA: Fibroma is a benign tumor composed primarily of fibrous connective tissue. One of the most common locations of fibroids is the uterus. Smaller tumors can contain only muscle fibers, in this case we will talk about myoma. The possibility of the fibroid turning into a malignant form is very low and is limited to very large uterine fibroids. If the fibroma is small, it does not cause any disturbance, but complications can arise in the case of significant development. For example, a large fibroid can compress the bladder. Episodes of ischemia (insufficient supply of blood and oxygen to the tissue) are possible inside it, associated with pain, bleeding and infections. There may be an increase in menstrual flow which can cause anemia.

MALE GENITAL SYSTEM

PROSTATIC ADENOMA - PROSTATIC HYPERTROPHY: This is a benign tumor affecting the prostate glands, mainly the periurethral ones, which affects people aged 50 and over. The most frequent symptoms are borne by urination which can become difficult or with repeated stimuli and not infrequently with urinary burning. It seems that the cause is to be found in a hormonal imbalance (decreased production of androgens and increased production of estrogens).
