Dear readers,
Today I want to introduce you to the seven principles of the Huna philosophy that during my travels and studies I was able to get to know and find to work. From what I have learned from talking to some shamans around the world, I can say that Hawaiian shamanism is a new and sometimes opposite point of view to classic shamanism.
The HUNA philosophy is a thought system that finds practical applications for living life successfully. The secret to achieving health and happiness is to create harmony between body, mind and spirit. This ancient knowledge is based on seven principles, each representing a different shamanic power that can be used to foster harmony. Learning the 7 Principles, assimilating them and taking them as a structure on which to organize one's existence, helps to develop the seven connected powers, obtaining concrete effects in the field of health, success and personal development.
Our beliefs have been oriented since birth, from school, by the mass media, by authoritarian figures, towards a predominantly material vision of existence, often undermining the possibility of accepting different techniques, which instead perform tasks such as emotional reprogramming, body healing, analysis and resolution of recurring problems with great effectiveness. The only question to discuss is what we wish to accept as true. To the extent that we manage to get out of social conditioning, we can usefully experience the benefits of Huna techniques.
FIRST PRINCIPLE :
THE WORLD IS WHAT WE THINK IT IS (IKE).
The fundamental idea of Huna philosophy is that each of us (i.e. our 3 selves:
the subconscious - KU,
the conscious self - LONO
and the superconscious or Higher Self - AUMAKUA)...
...creates his own personal experience of reality, through his own beliefs and interpretations, habitual actions and reactions, expectations, fears, desires, thoughts and sensations. We are creators, or rather CO-CREATORS, of the world and Huna teaches us to create consciously.
More generally, this principle says that we have a strong capacity to make sense of things ourselves. If we think we're wasting time here, that's a belief system and maybe we're actually wasting time if we think so. If, on the other hand, we are convinced that we are doing something good for ourselves or for others, the belief system is different and then we are really doing something good and this is what we will take home. The responsibility is ours. We decide. It is I who bring my vision of the world to the situation in which I find myself. It is I who give the name, the value to things.
SECOND PRINCIPLE :
THERE ARE NO LIMITS (KALA).
There are no real boundaries between us and our bodies, between us and other people, us and the world, us and God.
In the Huna God and the Universe (ie all that is, was or will be) are the same. Classifications, systems, labels are our inventions, they can change, while in reality there is an essential unity behind every system, the source of life, "the great mystery".
Huna means secret, but we know the secret. Both syllables of Huna also convey the meaning of union with this mystery, which is therefore possible as well as desirable. Any division, separation is purely functional, conventional, an illusion of expediency. Likewise there are no limits, for example, to the connections we can have. We can connect with more things, in time, in space. Just be open, accept its existence, become aware of it.
THIRD PRINCIPLE:
ENERGY FLOWS WHERE ATTENTION FOCUSES (MAKIA)
We try to always be aware of what we think, what we do, what state of mind we are in, how we live, because that is the direction of the E that we give. By learning to increase and direct the mana, the flow of energy, (with words, images, will, enthusiasm, excitement…) we also increase our power, our ability to manifest in reality what we want and need.
We create a seed, focus energy on it until it manifests itself into reality. You get what you focus on (for better or for worse). The most direct method to increase and improve Mana is the transformation of negative attitudes into positive ones. You are aware of and lovingly accept negative thoughts or feelings when they arise, but consciously change them into their opposite.
It gives our subconscious valid and positive orders to manifest. There was a time when the power to create scared me. I saw how my creating influenced reality, for better or for worse, and I was afraid of what I was involuntarily contributing to creating if I was in a state of fear, the death of a loved one for example. I am grateful to Dario, my teacher who reassured me, explaining that the true power of conscious action shouldn't make us fear, because as long as our connecting link with intent is not clean, thought does not correspond to immediate action, as well as when there are doubts or confusion. A negative thought can therefore be balanced by a positive one, an image that we create and we don't like, erased. When the connecting link is truly clear, transparent, we will also be able to create well,
To simplify the process of manifestation: the conscious mind focuses attention on something, the subconscious mind treats the object of attention as an actual fact and records its memory/supports it as a belief, the superconscious mind then uses this as a pattern or model upon which to create an equivalent physical experience and make it an integral part of our life. If there is no conflict between beliefs and doubts, simply focusing attention activates the superconscious (see synchronicity). The purer the attention, the clearer the results. Conscious attention is a matter of choice, while subconscious attention is a matter of learned habits. By filling the mind with elevated/spiritual as well as positive thoughts, it conveys a different view of the world and life,
However, it is necessary to keep the remembrance constant until the higher frequency level has established itself as a habit, as it is easy to forget and slip back into the ordinary world, prey to doubts and fears. According to Huna we don't pray for something, we don't beg, we don't beg, we don't try to force things, but we keep our mind on something with open expectation. To be who we want to be, we have to think about how we want to be. The more detailed we are and the fewer doubts there are, the more inherent in expectations the manifestation will be.
THE PRESENT IS THE MOMENT OF POWER.
From the present you can change the past and the future. We have the power in the here and now to change limiting beliefs perhaps linked to past experiences and consciously plant the seeds of a future of our choice.
The only thing holding back is to be in doubt, not to act, to linger. The important thing is to do something, to act without fear, but paying attention to what we do, being aware. Huna is effective. Be careful what we ask for, we might get it. It is when we are focused in the present moment that we become more efficient in what we do, because Mana exists only in the moment of awareness.
LOVE IS BEING HAPPY WITH someone/something (ALOHA).
The deepest meaning of aloha is "joyful (oha) sharing (alo) of life energy (ha) in the present moment (alo)."
It is important to evaluate what we are doing, whether it brings me happiness or not. If it gives me well-being, freedom, love, that's fine, let's develop it, go in the direction of the heart... If it doesn't bring it to me, it's good to take another direction.
SIXTH PRINCIPLE:
ALL POWER COMES FROM WITHIN (MANA).
No other person can have power over us or our destiny unless we let them. We often get out of our power, looking for footholds outside. We believe in the power of a teacher for example. Let's hope that someone pours into us what is actually already there. In reality we just have to realize that it is already there.
EFFECTIVENESS IS THE MEASURE OF TRUTH.
There is no absolute truth, but there is an actual truth at each individual level of consciousness.
Huna is a very practical system. Any knowledge system is considered convenient rather than real. There is always more than one way to do something. A different organization of the same knowledge could be equally valid for other purposes. In other words, all systems are arbitrary.
We are free to use what works best for us, obviously being careful not to do anything that contradicts respect for others.
