CRYSTAL THERAPY, ANCIENT ALTERNATIVE THERAPY (1)

 Dear Readers and Friends

Today I will start a series of articles on a fantastic alternative therapy, a very useful and interesting mini course on crystal therapy.

Crystal therapy is an ancient alternative therapy that uses the properties of crystals to restore physical and mental balance and promote well-being throughout the body.

Crystal therapy  is based on a premise common to other holistic disciplines and traditional medicines  according to which behind a physical disorder or emotional discomfort there is an energetic imbalance.

What are crystals and stones? They are the concrete meeting of four elements of creation: AIR, WATER, EARTH, FIRE. They are single individuals and have the memories of all their experiences enclosed within themselves.

The history of crystals is lost in the mists of time since ancient peoples used gems and stones not only for the health of the body, but above all as a means to enhance and develop the subtle energies of the body itself and as accumulators of cosmic energies.

Crystals can be used  in many ways : stones can be placed on the body, kept in a room or worn in jewelry.  Natural stones  can be placed under the pillow to improve sleep, placed on the Chakra to work on during meditation or worn to infuse energy.

It is very important to keep in mind that the effectiveness of gems varies depending on the relationship we establish with them.

Let's start from the beginning, from when you buy and choose them. Apart from those found in nature that do not need excessive treatments other than cleaning with running water, for other stones and crystals there are procedures to follow. First of all I firmly believe that it is the stone that chooses us and not the other way around.

When I go to my trusted dealer, who knows me well by now, we always follow the same procedure. First I ask for the stone or crystal I want, then he takes his supplies and puts them all on a cloth and I begin the choice. How? You might say.

I relax, take a few deep breaths and then pass my hand over the stones, some say the dominant hand, some don't care which hand we use, some use the left because it's on the heart side. I use the right (Dominant hand) and listen to the vibrations or sensations that the stone or crystal gives me. I take the one I feel in tune with. And the first step is done.

PURIFICATION OF CRYSTALS

Once you have chosen your stone in tune with you, you proceed to purify or cleanse it.  Here too there are many different theories and practices based on the disciplines you practice.  One of the most used classics is to wash the stone under running water and then immerse it for a few hours in a container with water and salt.  Reiki practitioners can clean it and program it with Reiki itself. For those who do not do Reiki, you can use the previous method or, depending on which stone you have chosen, you can bury it in the ground for a day or expose the stone to the moon's rays, also because not all stones tolerate salt.

PROGRAMMING

After having made the purification, the crystal must be programmed for the purpose for which it was chosen.  Various systems can also be used for programming: the simplest is to use the power of thought. Looking intensely at the crystal in front of us, we formulate the intention with clear and decisive words and, the stronger our intent is, the more the stone will respond to our needs.  Obviously, those who do Reiki or other similar disciplines will use the techniques already learned.

Given the vastness of the subject and that too much theory without practice is not something I like very much, I will introduce you to some commonly used stones that you can start using, continuing the theory and practice in the following articles.
