Practical Herbal Medicine: TRACHEITIS & BRONCHITIS

 Dear readers and friends,

Articolo in italiano su OlisticaMente Kokoro

Today I present to you some pathologies of the respiratory system with their respective herbal treatments. Obviously we will see some herbal remedies that work but as always, before doing self-diagnosis and do-it-yourself treatments, it is always better to go to a doctor.

N.B. When the results of a therapy based on medicinal plants should be disappointing, resort, without hesitation, to synthetic drugs that your trusted doctor will recommend.

TRACHEITIS: Tracheitis is an inflammation of the trachea, often associated with an infectious state which, except in rare cases, does not need antibiotic therapy. Inflammation of the trachea is often associated with inflammation of the bronchi and/or larynx, so in these cases we will speak of tracheobronchitis and laringotracheite.

Ribes nigrum (buds) M.G.: (anti-inflammatory) 50 drops, in the morning. + Alnus glutinosa (buds) M.G.: (anti-inflammatory) 50 drops, at noon. + Betula pubescens (buds) M.G.: (tonic-stimulant) 50 drops, in the evening.

BRONCHITIS: It is an inflammation of the bronchial or tracheobronchial tract (tracheobronchitis) which can have an acute or chronic course. The definition given by the O.M.S. (World Health Organization): "Chronic bronchitis is bronchial hypersecretion manifested by cough and mucous or mucopurulent sputum, on most days, for a period of at least 3 months, for at least 2 consecutive years." The most common symptoms are cough, phlegm, retrosternal pain and characteristic noises on auscultation. Bronchitis is often associated with an infectious state.

In the acute phases:

Ribes nigrum (buds) M.G.: (anti-inflammatory) 50 drops. + Alnus glutinosa (buds) M.G.: (anti-inflammatory) 50 drops. + Betula pubescens (buds) M.G.: (tonic-stimulant) 50 drops.

50 drops of one of the 3 M.G., every 1-2 hours, alternately, until the symptoms are remitted.
