10 most common and useful acupressure points to facilitate health (part 1)

Dear readers and friends, 

Today I want present you a new article of acupressure, 10 most common ad useful acupressure points to facilitate health.

The painful pressure points are judged to be areas where excessive energy has accumulated. Points that feel pleasant to pressure are judged to be areas where there is a lack of  energy. Acupressure points are usually treated bilaterally. When the energy is excessive, apply deeper pressure and hold it until the accessing energy dissipates. When energy is low, apply moderate pressure, using the flat side of the thumb, and hold to draw blood and Qi to that area. (approximately 3 minutes).




1) Lung 1.
Location: On the chest, 6 cun lateral from the midline, at the level of the first intercostal space, 1 cun below the lateral end of the clavicle.
Benefits:
  •  It is the collection point of all the energy of the lungs
  • It helps lung qi flow down the body to connect with the kidneys.
  • Supports the lungs.
  • Cope with acute cough, asthma and tight chest.
  • Relieves shoulder and upper back pain.
2) Large intestine 4.
Location: in the dorsal space of the hand, between the first and second metacarpal bone.
Benefits:
  • This is the command point for the face, mouth and head.
  • Treats sinus congestion, allergies, headache, sore throat, fever, and toothache.
  • It strengthens the body's defensive Qi and is helpful for colds, sneezing, runny nose and sore eyes.
  • Relieves shoulder and arm pain.
Contraindicated during pregnancy.

3) Kidney 1.
Location: on the sole of the foot, between the second and third metatarsal bone.
Benefits:
  • This is a very powerful point to connect with the earth and ground energy downward.
  • Useful for calming someone who is in a disturbed state of restlessness or shock.
  • Useful for headaches, anxiety, hypertension, diarrhea and insomnia.
4) Bladder 23.
Location: 1.5 cun lateral to the inferior border of the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, on the quadratus lumborum muscle.
Benefits:
  • This point fortifies both yin and yang renal energy.
  • Helps strengthen the lower back and knees.
  • Builds core energy.
  • Helps the body restructure itself during times of personal transformation.
  • Relieves low back pain and fatigue.
  • Fortifies the digestive organs and the
    immune system.
5) Liver 3.
Location: on the back of the foot, between the first and second metatarsal bone.
Benefits:
  • This is the source point of the Liver Meridian.
  • This is a transit route for Qi activity.
  • Releases pent-up energy that causes anxiety, anger, irritability, tension headache, depression and PMS.
  • It releases energy that is caged.
  • Smoothes aggressive, edgy energy.
  • Nourishes tendons and ligaments relieving contractures, tensions and spasms.
Particularly effective in combination with Large Intestine 4.
