Dear readers and friends, Articolo Originale
Today I present to you a pathology of the urinary system that is now very common and widespread with its respective herbal treatments.
Obviously we will see some working herbal remedies but as always before doing self-diagnosis and DIY treatments it is always better to go to a doctor.
When the results of a therapy based on medicinal plants are disappointing, resort, without hesitation, to synthetic drugs that your doctor will recommend.
KIDNEY STONES: Also called "kidney stones" is a disease characterized by the presence of "stones" in the hollow organs of the urinary system (pelvis, calyces, ureters, bladder). There are people who form stones only once in their life, but these are rather rare cases. Stones are concretions that are formed by precipitation of substances that are normally soluble in the liquids circulating in hollow organs. The stones can be removed surgically, but the operation evidently did not correct the metabolic disorder responsible for the lithiasis, and it is therefore necessary to prevent them from reforming.
Kidney stones can be of 3 types:
• from oxalates
• from urates
• from phosphates
They have various sizes and shapes, from very small like grains of sand (gravel), to larger like a grain of millet, or like a pea, or larger. The shape can be deer antler, pyramid or coral. When they get stuck in a ureter they can give rise to very painful colic. They can come out through the urethral meatus, spontaneously or following hydropinic treatments. When exit is impossible, due to the shape or size, classical surgery or crushing with particular less invasive techniques must be resorted to. The presence of stones can generate various types of inflammation and, not infrequently, infections.
Precisely for this reason when we use phytotherapeutic preparations that have the ability to dissolve stones, we must always combine an extract that also has disinfectant properties of the urinary tract. In fact, stones often have an irregular structure and during their descent along the urinary tract, they can create micro lesions which are important not to become infected.
Solidago virga aurea (Goldenrod) TM: 50 gtt. in the morning in 200 ml of water to be repeated 4 times an hour apart. + Rubia tinctorium (Common madder) (roots) TM: 50 drops. before lunch and 50 gtt. before dinner.
Common couch grass (Agropyrum repens) (rhizome) TM .: (diuretic-decongestant) 30 drops in the morning. + MG: White birch Betula verrucosa (lymph) (diuretic) 50 drops at midday.
In cases of infection: TM: Bearberry (branches and leaves) (urinary antibacterial) 20 drops, 3 times a day.
Rubia tinctorium TM (roots) . Madder is able to dissolve oxalate and calcium phosphate kidney stones. Furthermore, it also inhibits their formation. Madder was used to dye fabrics red so it often happens that urine takes on this color. Take 20-50 drops. three times a day.
All subjects with stones, whatever the nature of the stones, have common characteristics such as oliguria, i.e. urinary hyperconcentration and exaggerated excretion of some electrolytes, especially calcium. Oliguria is the low amount of urine excreted in 24 hours, which usually must be less than 400 ml for an adult of average size. Among the main causes we find: an inadequate intake of liquids, acute renal failure and other phenomena dependent on extrarenal districts. Therefore, to combat oliguria, it is not enough to recommend a diuretic to obtain good results. Extracts that promote the formation of bile and its outflow eliminate the obstacle of a congested liver. In these cases the following will be useful:
Rosemary ( Rosmarinus officinalis) (young shoots) MG: promotes the outflow of bile. 100 drops once a day in a large glass of mineral water.
Dandelion ( Taraxacum) TM: 100 gtt. in a large glass of mineral water.
Sometimes, however, oliguria can depend on a hyperfolliculin syndrome which consists of an excessive quantity of folliculin or estrogen in the female organism. This phenomenon is due either to overproduction by the ovaries, or to administration of the hormone for therapeutic purposes. In this case we will use: Rubus idaeus, the ampone (young shoots) MG: Regularizes ovarian hormonal secretion and allows the woman to be rebalanced from an endocrine point of view. 50 drops in the morning.
In the case of kidney stones, however, we must not forget the fundamental importance of nutrition in the formation of stones. Certainly a diet too rich in sugar and animal proteins increases the emission of calcium in the urine, increasing the risk of stone formation.
But a diet too rich in foods that contain oxalic acid such as tomatoes also favors lithiasis.
VERRUCOSA BIRCH White birch (Action of the glycerine macerate)
The gemmotherapeutic is obtained by maceration of birch buds. Birch sap is extracted in spring by making holes in the bark of birch trees. The sap is collected and diluted in a ratio of 1:10 (1DH) in a hydroethanolglyceric solution.
Warty Birch works by stimulating most organs and metabolisms and macrophages. Lowers cholesterol and uric acid present in the blood. It has a strong diuretic action and after 2-3 months of continuous treatment, there is a 50% decrease in the uric acid rate. It acts on the growth or regeneration phase of an organ, particularly on the formation of bone tissue. The different parts of the plant have different functions on the organism.
The gems: act on phlegm and mucous membranes and in cases of rhinitis. Excellent in the case of rheumatism with metabolic origins. The gem extract is advisable in all cases of juvenile rickets, in the prevention of tooth decay and in mineral deficiencies. It is also useful in all cases of lymphatic blockage and inflammation of the tonsils.
Lymph: it is an excellent remedy in the case of renal lithiasis, chronic cystitis, arthrosis and chronic degenerative rheumatism, joint rheumatism with a tendency to calcification. Useful in all cases of uricemia and cholesterolemia. It is considered an excellent draining agent with a purifying and excretory action, increasing by 37% the speed with which the blood eliminates a large part of the acid catabolites, preventing any forms of nephrourinary inflammation. Recommended in all cases of cellulite. For internal use it is useful in the case of inelastic skin easily subject to stretch marks and blemishes. Adjuvant remedy in the treatment of dermatoses and dermatitis. Its local and general use is advisable in the presence of premature baldness.
