What are we really? Science, spirituality, and the meaning of existence

 What are we really?

It's one of the oldest and most profound questions human beings ask.

Are we just a biological body or something more?
The answer can be explored from various perspectives: scientific, psychological, and spiritual .

In this article we analyze these visions to move closer to a broader understanding of our nature.

Are we just body or also energy?

From a material perspective, the human being is a complex biological organism. However, many spiritual traditions affirm that:

We are energy, consciousness, and part of a larger system.

Science also confirms that:

  • the body is made up of atoms and energy
  • cells communicate through electrical signals
  • there are electromagnetic interactions in the body

This suggests that we are dynamic, interconnected systems.

The Meaning of Life: Inner Evolution

According to a holistic view, life is not just survival, but a journey of:

  • personal growth
  • awareness
  • spiritual evolution

Many philosophies speak of a common goal:

Reaching a state of greater awareness or “enlightenment”

During this process, some people develop:

  • deep insights
  • greater sensitivity
  • sense of connection with everything
  • experiences like déjà vu

Carl Jung defined these phenomena as expressions of the collective unconscious , a shared structure of the psyche.

The scientific point of view

Science describes the human being as:

  • a biological system regulated by chemical and electrical processes
  • an organism in continuous interaction with the environment

Some research has observed phenomena such as:

  • biophoton emission
  • complex cellular communication
  • response to electromagnetic stimuli

However, it is important to distinguish between scientific data and spiritual interpretations.

Energy and chakras: a holistic vision

In holistic thinking, the human being is crossed by a flow of vital energy (Chi, Prana).

This energy is distributed through centers called chakras , which symbolically represent:

  • emotional balance
  • mental states
  • aspects of personal life

When energy is balanced: you experience harmony and well-being

When blocked: You may feel discomfort and confusion

Chakras, although not scientifically recognized, are useful tools for inner reflection.

Who are the lightworkers?

In the spiritual context we speak of lightworkers , that is, people who:

  • they show strong empathy and sensitivity
  • they try to help others
  • they perceive an inner mission

In reality, this predisposition is present in every individual.

The difference lies in awareness and the choice to develop it.

What are we really like? An integrated response

We can consider the human being on three levels:

1. Body (physical)

Matter, biology, structure

2. Mind (psychological)

Thoughts, emotions, unconscious

3. Consciousness (spiritual)

Awareness, meaning, connection

These dimensions do not exclude each other, but complement each other.

The question “what are we really?” has no single answer.

We can be:

  • body
  • energy
  • consciousness

Or all of these things together.

The true meaning lies not only in the answer, but in the journey of discovery :

  • knowing yourself
  • evolve internally
  • understand your connection to the world
