DIGESTIVE TEAS

 Dear Readers,

after the past holidays and for the future, today, I present to you some digestive herbal teas that are useful and, as always, tried and safe.

As for my preference for prescribing herbal teas rather than various supplements in pill or capsule form, I've discussed this enough in past articles. However, I reiterate their usefulness especially for those who tend not to drink much water and for those with a hectic life.

The preparation time of the herbal tea and its consumption is a good excuse to stop and carve out some time  for yourself, release tension and an opportunity to drink water that is the source of life.

Here are the herbal tea recipes with their dosage and preparation.

Mint, lemon and ginger herbal tea

5 grams of mint leaves; 5 slices of ginger root; 2 slices of lemon; 1 cup of water (about 200-250 ml). Place the water needed for the herbal tea in a saucepan and bring to a boil. With the heat off, add the ingredients and leave to infuse for about 5-7 minutes. Once the infusion time is over, filter and consume as soon as the temperature permits. If you wish to intensify the antispasmodic effect or make the herbal tea useful for pleasant relaxation, you can add half a teaspoon of chamomile to the ingredients described.

Mint, rosemary and sage herbal tea

5 grams of mint leaves; 2 sage leaves; half a sprig of rosemary or a teaspoon of needles or leaves; 2 grams of chamomile; 2 grams of yarrow; 1 cup of water. Pour the water into a saucepan, then add the ingredients mixed together. Once the liquid has boiled, turn off the heat and leave to infuse for about 5 minutes. Filter and consume as soon as the temperature of the herbal tea allows it, sweetening to taste (preferably with brown sugar or honey) only if deemed necessary.
